Inversion Junkies Yoga retreat in Playa Grande, Costa Rica!

Calling all “Inversion Junkies”!  This is not your typical Yoga Retreat. It’s an Inversion Excursion in Playa Grande Costa Rica!

Who’s it for? Practitioners who wish to be challenged and want to learn arm balances, inversions and bring more lightness and fluidity to their practice.  Amy’s signature iFlow Style is a special blend of dynamic movement, breath work, & modern spirituality rooted in the science of Yoga and Ayurveda. Expect to take your practice higher and to have fun doing it. Amy’s teaching is passionate & laced with humor.  Prerequisite: A willingness to work hard and a positive attitude.

When? February 8th to 15th, 2025

Where?  Villa Bodhi (my Costa Rica home) and the Palm Beach Inn are located in Palm Beach Estates a gated community within Playa Grande. It is on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica just North of Tamarindo in the Province of Guanacaste. Playa Grande is part of the Las Baulas Marine National Park. There are palm trees and vegetation along the 2.8 mile stretch of unspoiled beach. The park was established to protect the nesting grounds of endangered leatherback turtles. Playa Grande is one of the major nesting sites for turtles. Playa Grande is also a great place to surf. The beach has consistent waves for all levels from beginners to more advanced. It’s the perfect destination for nature lovers. From the ocean, to the beach, to the Jungle you’ll see and  hear howler monkeys, exotic birds, water fowl, iguanas, lizards and so much more. The plants and botany are amazing. If you want to venture to nearby national parks you can check out the Volcano and waterfalls in Rincon de la Vieja or Santa Rosa. Costa Rica is one of the worlds “Blue Zones” where people live the longest. When you experience the “Pura Vida” life here you’ll understand why.

How much? Prices range from $2,225 to $2,825 depending upon room selection.  Early bird pricing is also offered.

What’s included?  This retreat includes:

• 7 nights housing at Villa Bodhi or Palm Beach Inn
• Meals: Daily healthy delicious breakfast and dinners at a few of the local hotspots, all just steps away from Villa Bodhi & Palm Beach Inn.  Lunch is included on the day of our Sunset Sail excursion, more on that below…
• Daily 2-hour master yoga classes. Each Master class will be carefully designed to get you off your feet to lift your spirits.  All classes take place at The Monkey Shala, our open Air Yoga Studio in the midst of tropical gardens teeming with Costa Rican nature (wild ginger, birds of paradise, monkeys, iguanas, hummingbirds).  The Shala is located on the adjacent property to Villa Bodhi and had all props needed for your practice.
• Ground transportation from Liberia airport to Villa Bodhi/Palm Beach Inn, and the return to the airport at the end of the retreat

Other activities included in this trip:

• Special sunset catamaran trip which takes us up the north shore of Costa Rica for reef snorkeling (includes lunch, snorkeling & open bar)
• Estuary Boat Tour where we will see many beautiful birds and maybe even a crocodile
• Beach time… the beautiful Playa Grande is just a 4 minute stroll from Villa Bodhi or Palm Beach Inn
• R&R poolside at Villa Bodhi and Palm Beach Inn

If you are looking for more action choose from one of our A la Carte activities: Horse back riding $40, Surf Lesson $40 (if you already surf, just rent a board $20), zip line thru the jungle $40, Waterfall hike $tbd (depends on # of people).  Take the water Taxi across estuary to Tamarindo for $2 and enjoy the local shops and restaurants.

Anything else I need to know?  Airfare to/from Lliberia International Airport is not included.  The airport is about an 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Villa Bodhi.  There are non-stop flights from all NY area airports, and from many other major U.S. cities.  Except for our catamaran day trip, lunch is not included to give participants the flexibility for daily excursions and the opportunity to enjoy the many great restaurants nearby. There is also a small market within a 3 minute walk. The Villa Bodhi kitchen is for all to use.  Additional nights housing before or after the retreat is available at Villa Bodhi and The Palm Beach Inn for an additional nightly rate.  Contact Amy if this is something you would like to explore.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is requested to reserve your room choice and spot in this retreat.  The remaining balance will be due by January 15th. Early Bird pricing rates are offered for payments made in full by December 15th.  Deposit and Balance Payment can be made through Venmo or by check. In the unlikely event iFlow Yoga is forced to cancel this retreat you will receive a full refund of your deposit and any other payments made..

Retreat pricing does not include airfare to Liberia international airport or ground transportation to/from Villa Bodhi.  Cost for ground transportation ranges from $40 to $80 depending upon car share arrangements.

We recommend purchasing trip insurance for your protection.  There are many companies that offer various types of policy plans.  A simple Google search will bring up insurance carriers to choose from.  For the most protection, purchase a policy with "Cancel For Any Reason" optional benefit.
